A church is more than a Pastor preaching on Sunday. Our church is a body of diversified believers who take pride in what GOD has gifted us. We have organized ourselves to not only comply with the laws of the state but to comply with God’s laws. Please get acquainted below with some of the great staff and volunteers of our church.
Shepherd of the Sierra’s previous pastor has retired. We are now going through the replacement or call process. This is a prayerful process where our church leadership reaches out to a qualified, spirit fill person to lead our congregation in spiritual matters.

My name is John Ediss and I am currently the church council president. My wife, Karin, and I
have raised seven kids and five of them were confirmed at Shepherd of the Sierra (SOS). We
have been members since 1997. My hobbies include skiing, fishing, golfing and cycling. I am a
chiropractic physician. I also sing tenor in the choir. We have made lifelong friends at SOS. You

I am the Council Secretary since my appointment in March of 2019. I was previously on the Board of Education. I assist the Church Secretary. My late husband, Paul, was a member of this church and I joined in 2000
I am Jim Markwardt and have been Treasurer of the church since January 2014. I pay all the bills for the church and provide financial reports and budgets for the congregation. My wife, Joann, and I have been members of the church since October 1998. We joined the church because it was a mission congregation at the time and it was known as the “Most Friendly Church in Town”. I have been an Elder and head of the Trustees Board in previous years.
Evangelism Board Head
I’m Janet Gordon, head of the Evangelism Team. I stay connected with several charity groups we help and am always looking for those that only need help short term. We give back to the community where needed. The congregation’s favorite is our Angel Tree each Christmas.
I am Carolee. My husband, Ron, and I have been faithful members since 2011. Once we heard Pastor Milz, we knew this was our home We really liked his demeanor and caring personality. As the Fellowship Committee chair, I ensure events like and soup suppers , celebration of birthdays and celebrations of life are coordinated and run smoothly. I also maintain and update all the social notices throughout the church building.

Hi I’m Jim Blatchford. I head up the newly formed eCommunications committee. My wife, Doris, and I are fairly new to the congregation. We really enjoy the worship service, the magnificent church setting and of course, the people.
